Success Case · Enterprise · Beverage Distribution
A rebuilt distribution portal that keeps 2,500+ distributors ordering without a hitch.
For a leading beverage distributor in Argentina, Volkom re-platformed the distribution portal, taking downtime risk out of the system that moves orders across multiple countries.
The shape of the work
A portal rebuilt for performance, scale, and uptime.
The risk wasn't missing features — it was reliability. We rebuilt the distribution portal in two stages: first hardening the existing platform for solid order handling, then re-platforming it onto a modern stack built for performance, scale, and uptime.
The requirement
The client is a leading beverage distributor in Argentina, with a broad portfolio of licensed and imported brands. To push operational efficiency and keep customers happy, the company needed a dependable, customer-facing distribution portal.
More than 2,500 distributors across several countries place orders through that portal. Any downtime or friction translated directly into lost sales — so reliability and performance, not new features, were the real requirement.
Downtime wasn't an inconvenience — it was lost revenue. Reliability was the feature.
Any inefficiency or outage in the portal meant revenue loss and operational disruption, which made high performance and reliability non-negotiable.
The Volkom approach
We worked the portal in two stages. Version 1 hardened and extended the client's internally built platform on Python and Django, for solid, reliable order handling from day one.
Version 2 re-platformed it onto a modern stack — a React front end over a Python-customized Enterprise ODOO backend — lifting user experience, performance, and scalability while preserving everything V1 did.
That work was carried out by our team — then operating as AccelOne Argentina, the entity Volkom acquired — alongside the client's stakeholders from discovery through ongoing support.
The architecture
Engagement & support
This wasn't a hand-off. We ran discovery with the client's stakeholders to map the real pain points and long-term goals, then set a roadmap for the portal with reliability and scalability as the priorities.
Past launch, the portal is maintained as a living product — refined against evolving needs, tested rigorously on every update, and backed by escalation support for the hard cases.
- Discovery sessions to map requirements and goals
- Roadmap for the portal, reliability-first
- Continuous development as the business evolves
- Business analysis to capture new requirements
- Rigorous testing for stability on every release
- Level-3 support beyond the in-house 24/7 L1/L2 teams
Outcomes
Customer experience
A faster, cleaner portal lets distributors place orders effortlessly, without the interruptions that used to cost sales.
Reliability
Built for high availability, the portal handles daily order volume across several countries without disruption.
Business continuity
Ongoing support keeps the client's critical distribution system dependable, cutting the risk of downtime and revenue loss.
Scalability
The upgraded stack is ready for growth — new features and rising demand slot in without another rebuild.
What's next
Version 2 is a foundation, not a finish line. The modern architecture is built to keep adding capability — new portal features and headroom to scale alongside the client's growth.
A platform built to keep adding to — not to replace again.
Questions, answered
What did Volkom build?
A customer-facing distribution portal — first hardened on its existing stack, then re-platformed onto a modern React + Enterprise ODOO architecture for better UX, performance, and scalability.
Why rebuild it in two stages?
Version 1 stabilized and extended the existing platform so order handling stayed reliable right away; Version 2 then re-platformed onto a modern stack without losing any V1 capability — far less risk than a single big-bang rewrite.
What's the portal's technology stack?
Version 1 ran on Python with Django. Version 2 moved to a React front end over a Python-customized Enterprise ODOO backend, keeping every V1 capability while improving UX, performance, and scalability.
How many distributors does it serve?
More than 2,500 distributors placing orders across multiple countries.
How is reliability handled?
The portal is built for high availability, and we provide Level-3 support for complex issues beyond the in-house 24/7 Level-1 and Level-2 teams.
Can it scale?
Yes — the V2 architecture is designed to absorb new features and growing demand without another platform rebuild.
Reliability is a feature
